Every June, Sione gets the same email from his accountant. A checklist, forty items long, as an attachment. He's an electrician.
He opens it on his phone, between jobs, and closes it again. So in August, he turns up with a shoebox. Receipts, a logbook he half kept, and a question he's embarrassed to ask: is he going to owe money?
The firm spends a week chasing what's missing. Now picture the same email in June, with a short film told from Sione's side. He photographs his receipts on the job, straight into the firm's app.
His accountant, Rachel, rings once, with two questions. He signs the return on his phone, sitting in his van. A couple of weeks later, the refund lands, and Rachel tells him the one thing to keep for next year.
Sione watches it in June. In July, his paperwork arrives complete. No shoebox.
At Explainer Makers, we made an animated explainer for an Australian accounting firm, and they were very happy with it. If your clients dread tax time, we're happy to talk. Just visit explainermakers.com or send a message on LinkedIn.
