Explainer Makers

Prices

Prices, up front. No quote to wait for.

Many studios make you ask for a quote. Here is every price, by length, and what each one includes. Every video gets the same care, whatever its length.

One video

Choose the length.Everything else is included.

Prices are for a 2D animated explainer and exclude GST. Film-style adds A$499 a video. 50% when the project starts, and 50% on the final invoice, before the full-resolution films are delivered. For larger jobs, I’ll set out a payment schedule.

Quoteda fixed price

Your price is fixed when you sign off the script. If the story needs more time, I’ll tell you before anything is made, and you choose: trim it, or move up a band. Not sure how long yours should be? Tell me what you want to explain, and I’ll suggest a length before you pay anything.

Every video includes

  • A conversation about your business; I read your website and documents first
  • The script: bring your own, or I write it with you
  • A storyboard: every scene as a still you sign off before anything moves
  • Changes to the script until you’re happy with it
  • Two rounds of changes on the video
  • Any fault in the animation fixed at no cost
  • A professional voice, music and captions
  • Versions for your website, social media and your LMS
  • You own the finished video
  • Usually about three weeks from our first conversation

Not included

  • Filming your team or premises
  • Translations and other languages (quoted)
  • Paid advertising

Add-ons

  • Film-style instead of a 2D animated explainer: A$499 + GST a video
  • A third round of changes to the video, or any after it: A$250 + GST a round, to cover the extra production time and costs
  • Longer than 2.5 minutes: quoted

Need more than one? Four videos of the same length are 20% off. The four-video pack

The four-video pack

Four videos, 20% off.One series, whatever it’s for.

One film rarely covers it all. An accountant wants one for each service on the website. An owner wants a month of LinkedIn posts. Four films with the same characters, each worked out with you on its own. For government and corporate work, I quote all four together.

Four-video pack

Four videos of 61 to 90 seconds.

  • Four videos in the same length band, each worked out with you on its own, from the first conversation to the signed-off script
  • The same characters and style, so the four read as one series
  • Sized for your website and social media, and captioned, ready to drop into Rise 360 or your LMS
  • Delivered together, or one at a time as you need them
  • Everything a single video includes, on each one
  • Film-style adds A$499 a video

What a series looks like

One story, five pieces.

An accountant who means to post every Monday, and one client’s story told as a website film and four short LinkedIn episodes, with the same characters all the way through.

2D animated explainer or film-style

Two looks. The same story, the same steps.

2D animated explainer

Drawn characters in a clear, friendly style. Quick to make and quick to sign off. Every price above is for a 2D animated explainer.

Includedin every video

Film-style

Photoreal people and places made with AI, so it looks like a short film: your client at home, at work or in your office, with no film shoot. The scenes are made in a separate photoreal video tool. Any scene that comes out wrong, I make again at no cost.

Corporate work

Working with a corporate team or a government department?Talk to me about a quote.

Every corporate and government job is different, so I quote each one. Talk to me about kickoff and go-live videos for your programme, the stories inside your Rise 360 courses, public information films, and pricing.

How a video gets made

We talk. I write it.You see every scene before it moves.

Shown with a sample film: SAP go-live Monday, made for programmes facing the 2027 deadline.

01

We talk

Half an hour on a call. I read your documents and website first, so we start on what matters.

The brief: thousands of people at a mine site move to new SAP screens on one Monday. Show them that Monday before it happens.

02

I write the story

Told the way that suits your message: a person, a project, a place or an advert. You sign off the script.

Meet Sam. He plans maintenance at a mine site. Twelve years in the old screens. He can raise a work order with his eyes shut. On go-live Monday, he can’t find it. The crew is waiting.

03

You see every scene

Every scene as a still frame. You sign them off before anything is animated.

Scene 3: Sam at his old screen
Scene 4: Sam lost on go-live Monday
Scene 5: the crew waiting by the truck

Scenes 3, 4 and 5, signed off as stills

04

Then it moves

Animation, a professional voice, music and captions. Versions for your website, social media and your LMS.

Usually about three weeks from our first conversation.

How I break a big idea into scenes

Questions

The short answers.Ask me anything else.

Why is it less than most studios charge?

Because AI tools make the scenes, not a team of animators working frame by frame. You pay for the story: the conversation, the script and the storyboard. You still sign off every scene before it moves.

Will it look like AI?

Watch The moment the rules matter and judge for yourself. You see every scene as a still first, and anything that looks wrong is redrawn before it moves.

Can I try one before I buy a four-video pack?

Yes. Order one video at its normal price. If you go on to order the pack, that video counts as one of the four. For videos of 61 to 90 seconds, that’s A$5,950 now, then A$13,090 for the next three, 20% off the pack.

Why does the first minute cost more?

That’s where most of the work is. The conversation, the script, the characters and the look are all built before the first scene moves. Each further 30 seconds uses what’s already built, so each band above it adds A$1,000.

How long should my video be?

Long enough for the story, and no longer. After our first conversation I’ll tell you the length I think it needs, and you decide.

How do I pay?

50% when the project starts, and 50% on the final invoice, before the full-resolution films are delivered. For larger jobs, I’ll set out a payment schedule. Prices exclude GST.

Why does film-style cost more?

Film-style scenes are made in a separate photoreal video tool that charges for every take. The A$499 covers the takes it needs to get each scene right. Changes you ask for follow the same two rounds as every video.

What if a scene isn’t right?

I work on the script with you until you’re happy with it. On the video, you get two rounds of changes. A third round of changes to the video, or any after it, is A$250 + GST a round, to cover the extra production time and costs. If something in the animation itself goes wrong, such as a hand or a cup that moves the wrong way, I fix it at no cost, in a 2D animated explainer or film-style.

Can I use it anywhere?

Yes: your website, LinkedIn, email and presentations.
